Well here’s a good way to battle the possible, next generation, glass-gate. Trusted sources have offered new rumors about Apple working on a new Smart Cover to work on their next generation iPhone. The concept would not only provide a minimalistic screen protector which magnetically attaches and detaches from the iPhone 5, but would also provide an auto standby-resume feature many BlackBerry users enjoy through holstering in cases, and the kick stand that many HTC customers enjoy and that we all wish we’d find on the iPhone 4.
Sadly there’s no word on when we’ll see the next generation iPhone become a reality, but we’ll most likely see the new cover released with it. I’m still trying to imagine a side cover being a comfortable idea on a smartphone, but if they considered offering it as a vertical flap, I’d surely consider it.
Thanks for the tip Jon!
