Cracked applications for Apple’s iOS have found a home in Apptrackr’s index but Apple isn’t just sitting on the sidelines. According to a recent blog post from the creators Apptrackr, Cupertino is laying down as much roadbumps as possible.
“Apple has been severely scraping Apptrackr for links and sending huge takedown notices for a lot of content”, says the blog post. Cupertino has to fight in order to protect the platform and its developers from what seems to be already a problem. Apptrackr on the other hand is also making a couple of moves in order to keep the service running (like adding CAPATCHA to outbound links and moving servers to several different countries to avoid copyright-related issues). We’ll have to wait and see what Apple’s next move will be in order to stop Apptrackr and the piracy phenomenon.
