With the iPad event behind us — which brought the world the New iPad with its retina display, A5X processor, more RAM, improved camera and LTE — the iPad Mini (or the 7-8-inch iPad) rumors continue coming.
According to recent reports, the iPad Mini should have a 7.85-inch screen and Apple would utilize, according to sources, slim bezel displays in order to maximize the viewing area of the screen. We’re not sure this would be a good idea (and thus not sure Apple would consider it) because, if you have ever used the iPad, you understand that the bezel is needed to avoid accidental presses and interactions with the screen.
Whether a small iPad is something Apple would ever consider is yet unknown. However, in the current tablet market, Samsung and Amazon have strong competitors in the segment (even though the late Steve Jobs was against a smaller screen).
Same report notes that while the Retina Display’s existence on the iPad Mini is a mystery, the screen itself will be IPS just like others in Apple’s products. The price rumored would be sub-$300, likely $249-299 (which is also uncommon for Apple).
