Verizon has launched the iPhone on January 11 with pre-orders beginning February 3 and handsets going on sale on February 10, so still more than a week from now.
Nevertheless, Apple seems to have made available an iOS update specific to the (yet) unavailable Verizon iPhone. The version is 4.2.6 and, while the build is 8E200, it’s a minor version bump from iOS 4.2.5 which powered the Verizon iPhone at the launch event. Cupertino is surely preparing everything for when the handsets will be available but what exactly the company changed from iOS 4.2.5 to version 4.2.6 is currently unknown.
