Apple has removed the unofficial WikiLeaks application from the iTunes App Store joining other corporations (like Amazon, PayPal, Mastercard, Visa and Bank of America) that have ended any relationships whatsoever with the Julian Assange founded organization.

The application was made by developer Igor Barinov and it allowed users to read WikiLeaks posts as well as tweets from within the application, after purchasing the client for $1.99. Advertised as giving access “to the world’s most documented leakage of top secret memos and other confidential government documents”, the WikiLeaks application is no longer available on iTunes and, according to Redmond Pie, while the official reasons have not yet been made public, it is believed that the client got kicked “because the app was selling WikiLeaks content for $1.99 which is otherwise available on the Internet for free”.
