If today’s event confirms this rumor, it could be huge and will help Apple reconfirm itself once again in front of its competitors. In fact, sources suggest that a Finland-based company, called Senseg, will have their E-Sense technology featured on the new iPad. This system appears to give texture to a touchscreen, which is pure awesomeness, and will make the touchscreen feel rough, rigid or rounded, in certain areas, by using “tixels” generated by electric fields from elements embedded around the screen. Exciting as this rumor sounds, some questions emerge though: will this affect battery life, the screen protection or brightness? Well, we might find out in a couple of hours.
Finally, it looks like Apple really meant it when they said: “We have something you really need to see. And touch”. And, let’s not forget about those Gorilla Glass 2 rumors. It might be thinner and stronger but would it allow for texture emulation?
