Rumor’s had it that Apple would be holding its big iPhone 5/iPhone 4s event not in San Francisco, as typical for the company, but at its home base in Cupertino. Supposedly, this would all be going down on October 4. Now Apple’s started sending out invitations to the event, confirming both the anticipated date and location.
Apple’s gone a bit pictogram for this invite, constructing it out of iOS icons. October 4, one week from today, is the Tuesday that’s referenced, and 10 o’clock marks when things are set to get underway (that’s Pacific time, of course check with us for news of the event starting at 1PM Eastern time). As for what attendees can expect, Apple gets right to the point: “Let’s talk iPhone.”
That makes things a lock for the announcement of the next iPhone, but when might the hardware actually arrive? A recent rumor says the smartphone’s international launch could down on October 14. Previously, it had been looking like the date might fall earlier in the month, but October 14 is certainly within the range of possibilities we’ve been considering.
