We all know how tight-lipped Apple is when dealing with unreleased products, usually not even acknowledging rumors. Considering that, we can only guess to what extent the company must be fed up with all the uncertainty surround the seemingly endless delays around the lily-white edition of the iPhone 4, which we’ve been teased by since the phone’s launch. Responding to yesterday’s Bloomberg Businessweek piece siting multiple anonymous sources claiming that rumors of a canceled white iPhone were off-base, and that the smartphone was sure to be released this season, Apple’s made an uncharacteristic statement to the Wall Street Journal, confirming that the white iPhone 4 is still scheduled for a spring release.

After the first several months of delays holding back the model’s arrival, Apple finally made an official release statement of sorts, with materials in Apple Stores claiming the white iPhone 4 would show up this spring. By the time spring rolled around, with still no news on the product, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing, Philip Schiller, reiterated in a public tweet that we would, in fact, see the phone before summer. Following that statement, redesigns to Apple’s site started us thinking that maybe something was wrong, after all. With spring in full-swing, Apple’s comments to the WSJ today have us reassured that despite the months and months of delays, the phone will finally make its retail debut.

Let’s hope this is the last we have to touch upon this overly drawn-out saga, up until we finally see the white iPhone 4 in stores, anyway.
