In this video, I cover the keyboards found on 9 common devices: HTC Touch Pro, AT&T Tilt, HTC Touch, Samsung Omnia, Apple iPhone, Motorola Q9h, Palm Treo Pro and 700w, and BlackJack II.

In doing a speed comparison, the Q9h came out on top, allowing me to type "the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog" in just 8 seconds. That said, testing out keyboards is quite subjective and what works for me may not work for you.

What we can take away from this comparison is that despite popular thinking, a smaller keyboard may mean quicker text entry for those with average or small sized hands. The keys being close together means less thumb travel while typing. Those with large-sized hands probably feel more comfortable with larger and more spaced out keys like on the Palm 800w, BlackBerry Bold, or AT&T Tilt.
