The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is one of the most highly anticipated smartphone devices of the year (and there have been many). A webcast has been scheduled for September 15th at 1pm GMT +1 time (7am EST here in New York) which will show the first live in-depth presentation of the Xperia X1. To join the webcast, visit this site on September 15th at 1pm GMT +1.

Sony Ericsson is also unveiling a web-based alternative reality thriller and marketing campaign to promote the X1 which you can see a trailer for at WhoIsJohnny-X.com.

DailyMobile has also posted some leaked screenshots from the X1. You’ll notice that the device includes Opera Mobile 9.5 with full embedded Flash support. Whether that’s a good thing for usability remains to be seen, but at least they’ll have bragging rights for supporting the real real internet unlike Apple.

I know the keyboard doesn’t have arrow keys for navigation either, but this X1 device is starting to look very delicious.
