Netbooks are pretty hot in the market right now considering its low price entry point, but a lot of sacrifices have to made–not only in terms of computing power, but keyboard size, trackpad, and screen real estate. The other hot commodity are ultra-thin laptops, ushered in by the manilla-envelop encased MacBook Air. Quanta is taking its bet in the latter category, hoping to woo mobile users with a cheaper alternative to the Apple ultra-slim laptop, with a device that measures 1-2 cm thick.
According to DigiTimes, industry sources have stated: Quanta is confident about the potential of the notebook, since it features higher quality than Micro-Star International’s (MSI’s) recently launched ultra-thin notebook and is lower priced than Apple’s MacBook Air, two of the product’s major competitors once it launches, noted the sources.
