Shortly after the announcement of the HTC Touch Pro, we posted Something You Missed About the Touch Pro. Turns out that the Diamond’s sibling not only adds a microSD slot and (of course) QWERTY keyboard, but also TV-out capability. I became curious as to the resolution that the Touch Pro would output, plus the sort of video connector that it would utilize, as this information is not available on the HTC website.

After some emailing with an HTC rep, I have some answers for you:

1. Like the i-mate Ultimate 9502, the Touch Pro ouputs NTSC and PAL resolution, which is approximately VGA resolution.

2. Video output occurs with composite cable (yellow/red/white) from the ExtUSB port.

3. With the red/white composite cables, you can output to an external audio device to get louder sound.

For showing off a quick slideshow to family or friends, the NTSC/PAL resolution is adequate, but it’s not likely that the Touch Pro will replace your laptop when giving presentations at the office.
