Very few Windows Mobile devices have TV-out functionality, and the i-mate 9502 is one of them. It’s done via a miniUSB to composite cable, which lets you connect to a TV, projector, or monitor. You can also use the white and red audio connectors to output sound to an external source. Though it’s hard to tell in the video, VGA resolution stretched on a high resolution TV or projector may look decent from afar, but up close, it’s quite blurry, and having a few pixels cut off from the left side of the screen is annoying.
I could see the TV-out being useful for mobile professionals who don’t want to bring in the laptop for a presentation, or the power user/traveler who stores many movies on his device and wants to watch them on a larger screen.
