Thickness Comparison: Touch Diamond and Touch Diamond2

Here we have an image from CNET Asia (via wmpoweruser) comparing the size of the old Touch Diamond (or, current generation) with the upcoming Touch Diamond2. One of the biggest draws of the Diamond is its petite size. If you’ve never held a Diamond, trust us by saying that it’s quite small in the hand, and very thin too.

Does the Diamond2 keep with the slim and sleek form factor of the Diamond? Though the new model is thicker by 2mm, it still remains quite small. It’s taller to accommodate the larger screen (3.2″ versus 2.8″), but not too tall – HTC did this by cutting down on the hardware buttons down below the screen (namely the D-Pad). Outlined in red below is the approximate screen area on the Diamond2 imposed on the Diamond.
