The Wait Begins for Verizon to Release Touch Pro2

The good news here is that the Touch Pro2 for Verizon Wireless has gotten clearance from the GSM people–Verizon’s CDMA Touch Pro2 will also support a SIM card for GSM networks abroad in an attempt by the carrier to monetize roaming charges from the global traveler. The even more awesome news is that said device will have a 3.5 mm headphone port instead of the HTC’s usual proprietary mini USB that serves as a charge, sync, and audio out port. The official model number for Verizon Wireless will be XV6975.

Now, here comes the bad news: the carrier is lagging, having only released the original Touch Pro in CDMA variant just late last year so it may be a while before we see the Touch Pro2 launched on Big Red.
