The Touch Diamond Slider: We Wish You Were Real

We've got to admit - a Touch Diamond slider wouldn't be a bad idea. Don't you think? If HTC could maintain the slim form factor of the Diamond while adding a small number pad the reveals when you slide up the screen, they could have a huge hit. You could start and end calls by moving the slider, and for those that find the on screen keyboard annoying, they'd be able to use T9 via the keypad.

That said, this fake knockoff spotted by Engadget could be HTC's inspiration. But please - let's not put the 0, *, and # key off to the right. That doesn't make much sense =D. For more picture of the fake Diamond slider, click on to solomobi. And hey, if you want one, it's only $128.
