The HTC Touch 3G – A Worthy Refresh to the Original

HTC’s new Touch 3G isn’t as advanced as the Touch Diamond and retains the original form factor and TouchFLO of the first HTC Touch, which has since been available in CDMA versions on Sprint and Verizon Wireless in the United States. According to the HTC specs, the Touch 3G is GPS ready and comes with dualband 3G and quad-band GSM/EDGE so the 3G function is without love for United States frequencies. The device has a Qualcomm 528MHz CPU, 256MB ROM, 126MB RAM (drats), a 3-megapixel camera, and a 1100mAh battery.

In terms of size, the Touch 3G is a bit thicker than the original, at 14.5mm compared to 13.9mm.

For those wanting something a bit less expensive (and capable) than the Touch Diamond, the new Touch could be just the right pick. You can find out more about the Touch refresh from the product page at HTC.
