Some New Touch HD Details

At the rate of a steady trickle, we’ve been getting a stream of photos and videos of the crazy-high-resolution HTC Touch HD from around the world. If you’re keeping an eye on this device, be sure you check out 5 Things about the Touch HD That You Didn’t Know, plus our recent 2 New Things About the Touch HD which reveals that the Touch HD has selective autofocus (sweet!). It’s turning out to be a phone with a lot of hidden tricks.

To start, msmobiles is saying that HTC made a note on their Twitter feed that they have no plans for an Touch HD with US 3G bands (the version for sale in November will only do 3G in Europe). That may not be so. The exact quote from HTC is:

We can’t promise the US will get a phone similar to the HD, only hope along with you that the possibility exists.

As you can see, HTC did not imply that there wouldn’t be a Touch HD release in for the US, in fact, given their tendency to do Europe first and US second for many of their popular phones, it’s quite likely that they’ll bring the device to the US after a few months goes by. They’ve done it with the Touch Diamond, Touch Pro, and countless others.

Second, wmpoweruser came across a video of the Touch HD that shows the new stock tab in action in TouchFLO 3D. We find that you can flip through a variety of companies and see a 3D-tilted chart, plus get more detailed quote information via Yahoo! Finance. Looking good!

Update: HTC just squashed my optimism about a US release for the Touch HD. From their Twitter today:

sad news, US. we looked into it- by the time we could bring Touch HD to the states, it would be old news. we do have other cool stuff coming
