Snap Confirmed for T-Mobile USA as Dash 3G

T-Mobile has confirmed a July launch of the Dash 3G, the successor to the HTC Snap (codenamed Maple) platform that the international GSM version is built upon, but the American carrier will most likely remove the Inner Circle feature from the unlocked HTC branded Snap.

The device will be one of several Dash variants in the USA, competing with the yet to be released CDMA variants headed to rivals Verizon Wireless and Sprint. The device will also compete against the Samsung Jack (also called the Omnia Pro internationally) on AT&T and the LG GW550, which doesn’t have a carrier partner yet. All those devices run Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard, though Samsung has confirmed that the Jack will receive a Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard when that becomes available.

Other non-Windows Phone that the T-Mobile Dash 3G will compete against include devices from BlackBerry and the Symbian S60 Nokia E71.

The T-Mobile version will sport red accents. No details on pricing at this time. Be sure to check out our detailed review of the Snap.
