Samsung Epix SGH-i907 in the House: Unboxing Video

I see a lot of phones past my desk, and this it the device that I've been waiting for, for quite some time. For me, this and the Treo Pro represent the ideal form factor: touchscreen, keyboard on the front, great one-handed usability. That said, I'm looking forward to putting the Treo Pro up against the Samsung Epix for those that share a similar sentiment on their phone preferences.

The unboxing experience for the Epix isn't terribly exciting, but nor is that of any AT&T phone I've seen. My first impressions of the device is that although it's relatively thin, it does indeed feel thick. This may be because of how the side are rounded off.

When using the device, there is a vibration after every tap. It is Samsung's attempt at haptic feedback. I'm still not sure if I will roll with it on or off - but probably off, since it's an unnecessary use of battery (though perhaps with 1800mAh of juice, it won't take a toll).

I'm really liking the keyboard - it's a nice break from the small size of the Treo Pro. Anyhow, we've got a lot more on the Epix coming up real soon!
