Samsung is on the verge of unleashing a variety of Galaxy S smartphones variants onto US carriers, and also those in other countries. We’ve covered the European Galaxy S, which has won acclaim from both our own Daniel Webster and Geoff Farinha, thanks to the amazing Super AMOLED display, fast Hummingbird platform, and excellent software offering from Samsung.
The Captivate from AT&T, available on 7/15/10, has more rounded edges than the Galaxy S, but beyond that, it’s really the same device: it has a 1GHz Humminbird CPU, 512MB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (add a 32GB microSD card to that and you have 48GB of space), Bluetooth 3.0, a 4.0″ 800×480 screen, and a 1500mAh battery. If you want to compare the Captivate with the Galaxy S, see PDAdb.net.
