If you want a sturdier handheld because you’re accident prone, then look no further than i-mate as the company will soon be releasing a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional handheld that will take a beating–that’s a rugged handheld with a touchscreen, at least as it looks on the current rendering. According to Engadget Mobile, i-mate seems pretty confident with the handheld, offering a lifetime replacement warranty for any breakage. The specs are:

Windows Mobile 6.1, a 624MHz CPU, HSDPA, QVGA display, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth with a candybar QWERTY form factor. There’s a reported 2.2 GB of built-in storage.

The device is very reminiscent of the T-Mobile Dash, except the i-mate 810F model has a touchscreen if the screenshot is to be believed. However, the thing also includes a trackball and I am not sure how rugged those are as I’ve heard of a few BlackBerry devices requiring trackball replacements. Now, for serious rugged fans, the actual question is: “Will it blend?”
