If you're worried about getting reception in the mountains or on camping and need the power of a Windows Mobile smartphone, MoDaCo is reporting that EB Satellite is creating a reference design for TerreStar's satellite network.

The phone will have a landscape QVGA screen, 3-megapixel camera with flash and front-facing video call camera, dual-band WCDMA 850/1900 bands, quad-band GSM/GPRS, satellite band, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a microSD memory card slot. The design looks fairly attractive and it will run on Windows Mobile Professional from the screenshot.

Satellite will enhance coverage into areas that traditional cellular towers and signals may not reach. This will add Windows Mobile power to remote locations, the mountains, and other non-populated area. While in an urban setting, the phone will switch back to cellular reception when available.
