I’ve had the Treo 700w for nearly 3 weeks now. I’ve been making as much use of it as I can while I have it, taking advantage of the free phone and data service while its here. I very rarely hold the device to my head, thanks to the inclusion of the Palm Trip Kit. Included with it, is a Bluetooth headset.
I’ve noticed that in general, the headset works very well; and it was very easy to pair the device and headset. The one thing that has made itself crystal clear is that the BT stack itself, has issues.
With the phone on its side, and in the case that comes with the Trip Kit (more on that in another blog), the headset has some serious trouble with call quality. The audio tanks, and I’ve had callers give me the Six Million Dollar Man treatment (your breaking up…your breaking up!). Turn the phone so its vertical, and the reception improves 100%.
Coincidence..? I think not!
The device has some serious radio issues that need to be resolved. I’m hoping that Palm is reading these blogs and my review, and will act on some of the issues, both good and bad, that I am, and have, raised.
