I’ll be the first to admit that E-TEN hardware has never impressed me…and that goes for the X500, X650, X800, or even the V900. Each of these devices seem to suffer from bugs and build quality issues.
When Acer acquired E-TEN last year, we were hoping that we’d be on the verge of some quality hardware releases. Though the four devices shown at MWC don’t seem terribly interesting, we’ll delay judgment until we get them into the pocketnow.com labs.
In the mean time, we wanted to point out the keyboard on the M900; it could turn out to be the best slide out keyboard yet. Not only are the hardware softkeys placed in a perfect position (on the very right and left side of the device keyboard, right where your thumbs rest), but the keys are spaced out nicely, the enter key and spacebar are over-sized, and the entire keyboard has a gentle curve. Though we’d prefer a dedicated row for numbers, you can’t have everything, can you? Hopefully the software on the device is as nice as the keyboard. Hit up Engadget for more photos.
