The Touch Pro, like the Diamond, will turn out to be one the hottest Windows Mobile phone releases of 2008. It shares similar hardware to the coveted Touch Diamond, but adds a keyboard, bigger battery, microSD slot (and much less onboard storage space), and TV-Out function. This could be the ultimate device for the business user to date.
Right now, I’m getting it all set up, and I can already tell you that interacting with the device is unlike any other phone I’ve worked with. There is so much refinement throughout the hardware and software; you can tell that HTC wanted to make this a true gem. The screen rotation from portrait to landscape is the fastest that I’ve ever seen on a Windows Mobile phone. And the keyboard feels fantastic – much better than the TyTN II/Kaiser. I’m quite impressed thus far.
This is a European import, and thus lacks the UMTS850 band, meaning that the best data speed you can get over in the US is EDGE.
Lots more to come!
