In this video, we unbox the new HTC Snap, which many will know as the successor to the T-Mobile Dash, or HTC Excalibur. In fact, you can see a side-by-side comparison of the Dash and Snap here.

The Snap isn't supposed to be a super-capable device like the Touch Pro2. Instead, it's designed for those that want a simple and easy to use messaging device that offers a solid keyboard.

In terms of specs, the Snap is running with a QVGA 2.4" non-touchscreen, with a Qualcomm MSM7225 CPU clocking in at 528MHz. It has 256MB ROM and 192MB RAM, plus microSD expansion. It's a triband GSM (850/900/1800/1900) and dualband UMTS (900/2100) device, so if you're importing this into the US, you can use it, but you won't get 3G data. In has a 2.0MP camera on the back with no autofocus, plus it packs WiFi, aGPS, and Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR. Interestingly, powering the Snap is the same exact 1500mAh battery used in the HTC Touch Pro2. For more detailed specs, check out PDAdb.net.

If you don't want to wait for your carrier to offer the Snap, you can get one unlocked from Clove for £255, which comes out to around $430.

We'll be back soon with more on the HTC Snap!
