Looky here – another one taken from the HTC 2009 Roadmap. This time it’s the HTC Maple, known to be the true successor to the popular T-Mobile Dash. It looks like Windows Mobile non-touchscreen devices aren’t quite dead afterall.
The Maple, spotted at CNET (via Engadget), carries a new keyboard with large-sized raised keys. Also, the device includes a trackball, which may be a more precise way to navigate around than a standard D-Pad.
No word on availability, but we’d venture to guess that the Maple will show up on T-Mobile as the Dash 2 (or, just the “new” Dash). Regarding specs, the Maple will probably sport similar hardware to the S743 (assuming a US release). That includes a 528MHz qualcomm CPU, 256MB ROM and RAM, microSD expansion, plus 3G.
What do you think of the new keyboard?
