HTC Brings the S743 to the US

In HTC Touch Dual style, the US variant of the S740, the S743, is coming to the US as an unlocked GSM device to be sold in various retailers. The S743 adds the proper 3G bands so that it’ll work over 3G on AT&T. The press release from HTC mentions Dell and CDW as places of purchase, and cites Q1 availability.

The S473 is one of the few new WinMo devices running the non-touchscreen version of Windows Mobile. It sports two keypads – one in the front for numbers, and a left-sliding QWERTY keyboard for text. It has a 528MHz CPU with 256MB or RAM and ROM, WiFi, microSD expansion, FM Radio, and aGPS. It’s definitely the highest-end Windows Mobile Standard device that we’ve seen to date. It’s also quite petite at 4.9 ounces and 0.64″ thick. This should be a solid choice for those seeking the best in one-handed usability, with a feature list similar to the Touch Diamond (sans the high resolution touchscreen, of course).
