The Touch Pro2 will probably be the most widely available Windows Mobile device of all time. We knew that Verizon, Sprint, and of course T-Mobile would be getting the Touch Pro2 (in addition to a handful of other international carriers), and now AT&T will be getting into the game as Engadget is reporting.
On AT&T, the Touch Pro2 will be codenamed the Fortress, but since this isn’t a very marketable name for a high-end business device, we’re sure that the AT&T marketing department will come up with something more mainstream. The device is listed as having availability…tomorrow…which implies that the listing is a bit old. Our guess is that the Touch Pro2 on AT&T will land in late June, or sometime in July.
What’s most interesting about the Fortress is that the offset key layout is gone that we’ve been seeing on the Touch Pro2. Instead, the keys are arranged evenly in a row like the original Touch Pro. Also of note on the Fortress keyboard is the addition of a dedicated number row off to the right, which is pretty darn cool and should be great for dialing and quick number entry. We’re also digging the red color (which is uncharacteristic of AT&T).
