Best Buy, under its Isignia brand, will launch some personal navigation devices (PND) that will have cellular modem capabilities to them. The Insignia GPS devices will utilize Windows CE, the core system behind Windows Mobile. The device’s selling price will also cover the cost of wireless data through an unspecified mobile network virtual operator (MVNO). The bundled cost of wireless subscription is similar to Amazon’s strategy with the Kindle.

According to Windows for Devices, users can:

* Receive realtime traffic information (above) provided by Traffic.com

* Use Google Search to find local POIs (points of interest) in a wide variety of categories

* Get “up to the minute” local gas prices provided by Gasbuddy.com

* Send destination addresses from the Google Maps website to the device wirelessly
