Cingular Palm Treo 750 Blog: Day 1

After having unboxed the Treo 750, I placed it in my hand. It felt much lighter than the 700w…until I realized that I had yet to insert the battery. Oops. Battery in, it still felt a bit lighter than the 700w. The 750 has grooves along the right and left side that serve as great resting points for your fingers. The entire back, and part of the sides and the front, feel soft, coated with that great rubbery-like plastic. This material decreases the chance of the device slipping out of your hand and onto the cold, hard floor. Under close inspection, the rubber-like plastic is actually a dark blue metallic. Great touch!

Flipping the device over, I found a large and defined speaker grill. Next to the speaker grill is a self portrait mirror, and 1.3MP camera lens.
Back over on the front, we notice that there are no lights on the device. That’s because the status light is actually hidden UNDER the paint in the upper left corner. Palm was definitely going for a clean look on the device, all while maintaining the trademark Treo look.

And of course, unlike the 700w, the 750 has no external antenna…who wants an external antenna? Perhaps those concerned about cell phone radiation, but until science tells us that we’re in trouble, the internal antenna is here to stay.
