Celio REDFLY C8N Hands On

In this video, we do some hands-on action with the REDFLY C8N with two devices: the HTC Touch Pro2 and Samsung BlackJack II.

The REDFLY works well. You simply install the appropriate driver onto the device in question, plug the device into the REDFLY (or connect via Bluetooth), and turn on the REDFLY. Within seconds, you've got a connection. Celio has a list of devices certified to work. The Touch Pro2 isn't listed, but it still works great.

For devices that have WVGA resolution like the Touch Pro2, the REDFLY doesn't scale to the full 1024x768 of the C8N's screen. Celio tells me that future models of the REDFLY will be able to do this. But for other devices, like the BlackJack II, you'll get the full XGA resolution, which is quite a site for a device that natively runs in QVGA resolution.

You can also use USB accessories with the REDFLY, such as an external mouse and USB flash drive. Connecting to a monitor or projector is generally a painless procedure, but don't try to watch high motion video on the REDFLY or external display.

We'll be hitting the REDFLY vs. Netbook question in the next video. Until then, be sure to check out the unboxing video.
