Ok, so we got you. Every post thus far today has been simply an April Fool's Day prank. I'm sure most of you would have assumed. So keep visiting the site, because we're certainly in no danger of going Palm. We've marked every April Fool's joke post as such so you'll be able to distinguish fact from fiction. And as for my Zire, it's in the trash and my i-mate is back in my pocket.

I've been a writer in the mobile computing industry for the last 6 years, and I've never looked back. That is, I've never looked back until now. On this day of introspection, I've come to realize a few things about myself and the intelligence I keep daily in my pocket: My i-mate Pocket PC Phone Edition has: -Stereo sound I never use -A color screen that drains my battery -GPRS connectivity built-in that I have to pay for -SDIO expansion is pointless if I don't even use it -Bluetooth connectivity that's impossible to set up -128 MB of memory to keep pictures of people on it that I don't ...

Builder.com has really a fascinating article detailing how to maintain web site information and databases on a Pocket PC. The article provides step-by-step instructions on how to administer a SQL server-driven site from a Windows Mobile device. Definitely worth a read. "Microsoft SQL Server 2000 CE Edition is an enterprise-level database management system that can be deployed on any Pocket PC device."

There's been a lot of news out there lately regarding AT&T's recent actions. On paper, this seems like a good idea since it will help fill in some of the gaps in coverage they may have (pending the completion of the Cingular buyout). However, this news means that they are asking for all their east and west customers to replace their feature-rich phones, and replace them with inferior models. This could stand to be an issue for Microsoft, since most all of ...

Adam Lein sent me an email with reference to this BargainPDA listing. It shows the HP iPAQ 6300 with a release date of 4/1/2004. Could it be? Perhaps with all the Motorola MPx buzz they are stepping up their campaign. Thoughts?
