eCost is selling the Transcend 150x 4 GB SD card for $209 after a $25 rebate. There will be a minimum of $9.94 for shipping and handling and sales tax in some areas. Even so, this seems like a pretty good deal with 2 GB SD cards still costing $110 or more.
This is especially true with this being fairly new technology (unless I missed the availability of 4 GB SD cards much earlier). You may want to check the compatibility of the cards with your devices, though, as it may be limited.
For example, my 2 GB SD card works fine in my iPAQ 5550, but isn’t recognized at all by my Mobile Crossing WayPoint 200. It also works fine in my Dazzle USB 2.0 card reader, but my Fujitsu laptop’s SD slot only recognizes the first 1 GB.
Transcend does have a card reader that will work with this card if you’re worried.
Have you ever used Transcend memory cards? Is this enough memory for you? Share your thoughts in the discussion.
