Over the last few days, we’ve seen lots of pics and video of upcoming BlackBerry handsets leak out, giving us an early view at some of the most anticipated additions to RIM’s lineup. The trend continues through today, with the BlackBerry Bold 9790 posing for a series of its own pictures.
It’s not clear right now just how the 9790 will fit in with the rest of RIM’s upcoming smartphones. According to the source that provided the phone’s images, the 9790 performs significantly better than current models of its lineage, like the Bold 9780. With the upcoming Bold 9900 and 9930 as the new high-end touchscreen Bolds, though, where will the 9790 show up?
The Bold 9790 will supposedly have a touchscreen display, support NFC transmissions, have 8GB of internal storage, and ship running BlackBerry OS 7. This is assuming the phone is actually meant for retail release and we’re not just looking at some in-house testing model. Considering this is the first we’ve heard of it, that’s a distinct possibility, but we’ll wait to see if any new information on 9790 arrives before writing it off completely.
