A little earlier this month, we saw BlackBerry users receive a Twitter update that brought the app new integration with BlackBerry Messenger. We had heard about this kind of BBM Connected app earlier, and already saw both this new Twitter and an updated Facebook app get the feature in the Beta Zone. Today RIM made an announcement about some more of these BBM Connected apps, including when we can hope to see them arrive.
We’re still waiting on that new Facebook update to leave beta testing, and according to RIM it should be here pretty soon, going live sometime in the next ten days. The rest of these updates, as well, should be arriving in that same time frame.
BlackBerry Travel will be making it easier to keep friends apprised of your plans, letting you share itineraries and travel updates with them over BBM. BBM Music, already heavily reliant on social networking in order to build up your song library, is getting some new features to make adding new friends easier, as well as letting you check out their collection of songs in advance; these are the same features we talked about when the update first hit the Beta Zone.
The BlackBerry App World itself will be offering users the ability to share news of recent app downloads over BBM. Last but not least, BBM will have new profile controls, make voice notes easier to send, and get some new animations.
We wonder if this will largely be it, or if RIM has future plans for more BBM Connected apps.
