It’s rather unusual for the manufacturers themselves to leak (slip) an upcoming smartphone ahead of announcement — but has happened in the past — and RIM seems to have done exactly that with the BlackBerry Bold Touch which, according to rumors, is supposed to be announced at the upcoming BlackBerry World Event.

On the front page of the BlackBerry website one could see the new, upcoming BlackBerry Bold Touch for a short time — it’s been taken care of now. Not only the smartphone name has been confirmed but we now also have confirmation of it running BlackBerry OS 7 (ex 6.1). Question is: will there be another smartphone announcement next week or were the rumors accurate?
