RIM has recently announced the availability of their BlackBerry App World in 27 more markets world wide. These markets will now enjoy the same benefits on other markets like the US currently have of being able to browse and purchase mobile applications from their device through a PayPal account or a credit card.
This expansion was long over due for countries like Russia, Sweden, Greece and Denmark. Being blocked from the App World leaves you with very few options to side load applications on the device. The sad part though, is that the App count hasn’t extended much, at a current 18,000 applications. If compared with the hundreds of thousands of Apps currently offered for Android or iOS, at much cheaper prices, we’d say there’s still room for improvement on that strategy. Not sure if that’s ever going to change, but while it does, hit the BlackBerry Help option on your device to download the App World if your country is on the list.
