Just about a month ago, we learned of a nice little promotion RIM had going for some BlackBerry users, treating them to free access to some normally-paid apps. Considering how BlackBerry users often find themselves holding the short end of the stick when it comes to apps, missing out on ports of popular titles only found on other platforms, we found it to be a nice effort on RIM’s part. The only problem was that, at the time, the free apps were only accessible to users in the United States. Today, we learn that RIM has decided to extended the bounds of its generosity, bringing these free app deal to Canadian uses as well.
Considering that Canada is RIM’s home turf, we’re a little bit surprised it took the company as long as it did to bring this offer to within its own borders. Just like before, these free apps are only for BlackBerry 7 users, and can be spotted by the presence of the text “Compliments of BlackBerry” in the app’s name. From what we’ve seen, it looks like there’s a nice mix of casual games and productivity apps to choose from. CrackBerry has uncovered 17 apps that are part of this deal, so hopefully you’ll be able to find at least a few that strike your fancy.
The offer runs through May 31, so act while you can.
