It looks like Verizon Wireless will be getting its own CDMA variant of the BlackBerry Curve 3G smartphone. The Research in Motion device also goes by the 9300 series, and Verizon Wireless’s CDMA model will most likely get the 9330 designation. The device has shown up on the carrier’s rebate forms, in both charcoal gray and fuchsia colors, with anticipated pricing post-rebate to be at $100 on a two-year service agreement.
The rebate expires at the end of October so a launch could be coming soon, unless there are some late changes internally on the part of the carrier. Verizon Wireless will be joining rival T-Mobile USA in launching a variant of the BlackBerry Curve 3G.
While the GSM BlackBerry Curve 3G will be the first GSM Curve to add a 3G radio, CDMA BlackBerry Curve smartphones had had the privilege of running 3G on the EV-DO data network. The Curve 3G for CDMA models will be more of an incremental upgrade compared to its GSM sibling.
