Well, speak of the devil! We just wrapped-up looking into the latest developments in the brouhaha over the BBX name, and now we’ve learned of some new rumored specs for what should be the first BBX device, the BlackBerry Colt.
The code name Colt has been popping up for a few months now, and we’ve heard a few basic specs as well as some rough guesses at a release window. Today’s additions to those rumors hope to help flesh-out the phone a bit more.
We already heard the Colt would be a single-core device, and that goes unchanged. Supposedly, it would be the same 1.2GHz Snapdragon MSM8655 used in current-gen BlackBerrys. This new info paints the Colt as under one centimeter thick, and describes it as a touchscreen-only slate with no hardware buttons. Overall device construction would follow design cues from the likes of the 9900, with a similar unibody design with metal accents. The Colt should get dual cameras, though there’s no word on either’s resolution. The BBX OS itself should be chock-full of The Astonishing Tribe-designed graphical flourishes, for a real modern look.
There are still no pics of the Colt to show you, but the above render is at least one educated guess at how the smartphone will appear.
