Earlier today, we took a look at when some of the upcoming round of BlackBerry OS 7-running BlackBerrys would be making it to Canada. There’s been a lot of activity from the Canadian carriers in regards to these models, and while we don’t have an official release date for any of them nailed-down, it looks like we could hope to see at least some arrive around August 15. Now there are reports of retailers starting to get their hands on some dummy models, helping to make the case that the release date may be nearly here.
This picture taken at a Virgin Mobile location shows the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Torch 9810 dummy models ready to be set up for display. In and of itself, that doesn’t do much to help us pin-down a launch date, but already having seen August 15 mentioned twice, it’s not unreasonable to think that stores are getting their dummy phones now in preparation for next week.
We’ve yet to come across any signs from retailers in the US pointing to an imminent launch, but we’re expecting to see something happen before the end of the month.
