Members of RIM’s BlackBerry Beta Zone continue to enjoy access to the latest BlackBerry apps while still in development, getting the first chance to try out new features. The latest app to drop a new version in the Beta Zone is RIM’s Facebook BlackBerry app, which just hit version 2.0 beta 4.
It doesn’t look like there are any big new feature in this new version (and we really wouldn’t expect any so far into the beta testing process), but instead a bunch of changes to how the app operates that will hopefully make it easier to use and help you can a little more use out of it. “Integration” is the name of the game, and RIM is giving you new ways to share Facebook content with other BlackBerry messaging services (BBM, SMS, et al) as well as providing more ways to access Facebook from within other apps.
Since this is a beta, after all, there’s a new Feedback Tool you can use to submit descriptions of problems you run into while trying out the app. Hopefully, your comments will help RIM iron out any last issues before Facebook 2.0 goes final. Other changes in beta 4 include an improved notification system, as well as new inbox controls for touchscreen devices.
Facebook 2.0 beta 4 is available in the Beta Zone now. Membership is free, so check it out.
