A leaked ROM introduced us to wireless hotspot support on the BlackBerry Bold 9900 last month. Since then, we’ve seen that feature make its way into official releases and start to go out to phones. The latest carrier to bring the release to its RIM devices is Sprint, which has started distribution of BlackBerry OS 7.1 for the Bold 9930 and Torch 9850.

It almost feels like wireless internet sharing should be a standard feature in smartphone at this point in time, but sure enough, the past several months have seen the feature enabled via update in Windows Phone handsets, and now the latest BlackBerry models are joining them.

In addition to the mobile hotspot support the update contains the BlackBerry Device Analyzer, a tool you can use to try and sniff-out just where your BlackBerry is running into trouble. If you don’t know if messages aren’t going out due to a problem with an app you just installed or with your network connection itself, the Device Analyzer will do it best to help narrow things down.

Updates for both phones started going out overnight, so users should expect to be seeing them by now.
