RIM’s BlackBerry Bold 9780 just landed at T-Mobile last week, but AT&T is not wasting any time getting its hands on the latest Bold as well. The first video of an AT&T-badged 9780 has surfaced, hinting that it won’t be long at all before the carrier official kicks off sales.
T-Mobile first put the 9780 up on its site on November 17, just as predicted. The newest addition to the Bold lineup, the 9780 carries a notable upgrade to BlackBerry OS 6 along with a higher-resolution camera and 512MB RAM – double the 9700′s memory.
The lucky owner of this AT&T 9780 has put the handset up for sale on eBay. The asking price is a hair under $900, making T-Mobile, selling the Bold for $130 with contract, seem like it’s just giving them away in comparison. Keep in mind, if you were planning on re-purposing a T-Mobile 9780 for AT&T, you’re going to pay the price of having an incompatible 3G radio.
The seller of the unlocked AT&T 9780 claims that the company won’t officially start carrying the handset until 2011, though he didn’t get any more specific with a release timeline.
