Major online cellphone retailer Wirefly has posted a comparison chart clearly stating that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Android gaming handset will be coming to Verizon. In comparing the Gingerbread slider to the iPhone 4, Wirefly — a large enough player to have this sort of inside information — lays out all of Play’s specs, including its four-inch FWVGA LCD, VGA front-facing camera, and 1GHz (single-core) processor. What’s not specified yet is the data capabilites on this model first made official during the Super Bowl: the obvious implication here is that 4G LTE compatibility is a possiblity. With Mobile World Congress only days away, we should learn more about plans for the so-called PlayStation phone along with the Xperia Neo and possibly a yet-to-be-revealed model dubbed Xperia Duo.
