Xobni (“Inbox” in reverse) is an app that adds social networking tools and analytics to your email box. Previously available for Microsoft Outlook, Xobni was a plugin that allowed a deeper insight into your contact, helping expose information about people who contact you so your responses can be more personal.

Now that people are using smartphones and web-based email more, Xobni realizes they can’t count on their desktop solution as being their only platform. To address this they’re releasing apps for Gmail (in the form of a Chrome plugin), iOS, and Android.

Currently in private beta, Xobni will move its Android app into a more open beta within the next three months. If you’d like to sign-up for the private beta you can request access via Xobni’s website.
