HTC’s Thunderbolt on Verizon LTE is really starting to come into its own; early adopters found the smartphone to be a little buggier than they may have liked, but HTC has been responding to their concerns and should be coming out with fixes shortly. Gingerbread will be available as an update in the next couple months, and yesterday’s Skype leak should get Thunderbolt users up and making video calls over the 4G LTE network. If you’d like to join in on the Thunderbolt fun, you can pick one up at a discounted price through next Monday, with Wirefly offering a $50 price break on the phone, bringing it down to around $150.
The site still lists the Thunderbolt’s full subsidized price; to get your extra $50 savings, you’ll need to apply coupon code THUNDER0418 during checkout. Let that 0418 be a reminder that if you wait until mid-next-week, this discount will have passed you on.
Buying a Thunderbolt now, you’ll still have access to Verizon’s offer for free mobile hotspot service, but that’s rapidly wrapping up; after May 15, you’ll have to pay to continue using it.
