We kicked-off last week by bringing you the first look at press renders of the Samsung Epic 4G Touch on Sprint all decked-out in white. Considering the other Galaxy S II carrier variants that have arrived in the US already got their chance to try on a new white shell, the Epic 4G Touch started to seem like it was really dragging its feet. We were thinking that the phone might come out following a CES debut, but some rumors suggested that the phone would be available just a bit earlier, on January 8. That suggestion seemed to be reinforced by the appearance of the same date on the phone’s calendar in those shots, and now we’ve seen some additional confirmation, with a leaked Sprint doc also heralding the white Epic 4G Touch’s January 8 arrival.
According to the source behind this leak, the white Epic 4G Touch won’t be positioned as an exclusive for any one retailer, and will easily be available to anyone interested at Sprint’s own retail locations. While it’s not mentioned in this leak, it’s highly likely the white edition will carry the same price of just under $200 on-contract as the original black version. With any luck, it shouldn’t be long before the white handset pops-up even cheaper through retail partners.
